Town of Berne – Request for Bids – Demolition of Garage structure at 1763 Helderberg Trail (NYS Route 443), Berne, NY 12023

Sealed bids will be received by the Town of Berne until 10:00 AM, December 10, 2019, at the Berne Town Hall, 1656 Helderberg Trail, Berne, New York 12023 at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud for the demolition of the garage structure located at 1763 Helderberg Trail (NYS Route 443), Berne, NY 12023 

Work of Contract No. 2 – Demolition of the Garage Structure at 1763 Helderberg Trail (NYS Route 443), Berne, NY 12023 shall include all materials, labor, tools and equipment necessary to demolish the dilapidated garage structure at this parcel. Work shall conform to all applicable standards for the demolition of residential structures in NYS.  Work shall include removal and proper disposal of the demolished structure and restoration of the property. 

Complete sets of Bidding and Contract Documents may be obtained from the Town of Berne at the Town Hall located at 1656 Helderberg Trail, Berne, New York 12023 between normal business hours, or by contacting the Town Clerk at 518-872-1448. 

The Town Board of the Town of Berne reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids received and to reject any or all bids without explanation.

A Pre-bid meeting will NOT be held. All bidders are encouraged to visit the site to understand the scope of the work. Access to the interior of the structure shall be granted after scheduling such access with the Town Clerk. 

All questions shall be directed to the Town Clerk and shall be responded to in writing. The project shall be completed according to the timeline outlined in the contract documents and must be completed in its entirety by June 1, 2020.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Berne Fire District will take place on December 10, 2019, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Berne Fire House located at 30 Canaday Hill Road, Berne, New York, for the purpose of electing one Commissioner for a five (5) year term commencing January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2024. All voters registered with the Albany County Board of Elections on or before November 20, 2019, shall be eligible to vote.

Absentee ballot applications may be obtained from the Secretary of the Berne Fire District. Please call Kimberly Collins at 518-466-9896 to obtain an absentee ballot. If the absentee ballot is to be mailed, applications are due to the Secretary on or before November 28, 2019.  Application requests for absentee ballots to be delivered personally are due to the Secretary on or before December 3, 2019.
