To the Editor:

I am writing this with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes.

Our Westerlo Community has lost a lifelong family member. Anita Marrone has moved on, leaving behind a wonderful family and a community of friends

I have known Anita only for the years I have been a town councilwoman. Anita was my biggest critic but also one of my dear friends; she was the best at playing devil’s advocate, calling anyone out she thought was wrong but also great at praising when she felt you were right.

I am going  to miss her more than she will ever realize and I am a better person today because of who she was. I want everyone to know how much she cared about our community.

To the Marrone family, we hurt in our hearts as you do. I pray for your peace and send our love to you all.
