GPD sting nets one

GUILDERLAND — An Altamont man was arrested last week for selling alcohol to a minor.

Michael Oliver Jr., while working on the Sunoco station on Main Street, was charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and prohibited sale of alcohol to a minor, after the Guilderland Police Department conducted liquor license checks at 16 establishments.

Oliver sold a six-pack of Corona beer to a 19-year-old female on Nov. 13 without asking for identification, according to a press release from the department.

The sale at Sunoco was the only violation discovered during the liquor license check.

Oliver is due in Guilderland Town Court on Dec. 3.
