Scout drive was a community success

To the Editor:

The Cub Scout Pack 73 and the Boy Scout Pack 73 did it again!

On Nov. 4, they held a food and personal-care product drive for the New Scotland Community Food Pantry. It was an extremely successful and timely event, netting the pantry over 2,385 pounds of items!

There was a steady stream of cars and trucks, many with families participating, pulling up to the doors and unloading these items. Indeed, the collective Scout drive was a community success.

We are grateful for the community’s response to the Scouts’ request to leave the donations out on Saturday morning, to the moms and dads who drove the Scouts around to pick up these donations, to the Voorheesville School Messenger that reminded everyone the drive was happening, and to the dedicated volunteers at the pantry for unpacking and sorting all of the donations.

Voorheesville is a very caring community. Thank you, everyone.
