Still time to go solar and save money

To the Editor:

It is not too late to sign up for a rooftop or backyard solar system through this year’s Solarize Albany County program. The deadline has been extended to Nov. 30.  This year’s rate is $3 per watt, which is about 20 percent lower than most solar installers charge.

New York State Energy Research and Development Authority incentives will decrease in 2017, so this is an excellent time to go solar.  It can be done without costing any more than a regular electric bill.

Enjoy the financial security of a stable monthly energy cost until the system is paid off, and then the payments will stop, except for National Grid’s (now $17) Basic Service charge.

It is a great way to save money and eliminate worries about rising electricity costs. For more information and a free site assessment, contact , (518) 328-4SUN, or visit www.solarizealbany.org.
