Calling Santa Paws (or Santa Claws), Gingerpet Man, or a Reindog
To the Editor:
Kick off your holiday celebrations with the whole family, including your four-footed family members! This year, the Altamont Community Tradition Annual WinterFest will begin with a Howliday Pet Pawrade, and we’d love to have you join the fun.
You and your pets are invited to dress in your best holiday wear (Victorian garb, or ugly holiday sweaters encouraged) and strut your stuff through our pet-friendly village. Dogs, cats, chickens, fish, all pets are welcome.
No pets? Tag along (kids in costume make for great parades). This year, donations of pet food/needs will be collected to support local pet owners in need.
On Sunday, Dec. 14, we'll meet and begin to line up at Orsini Park at 11:30 a.m. Our parade will be at noon, led by Santa himself, who will lead us down Main Street to Lincoln Avenue, up to Jay Street, then down Maple Avenue, back to Orsini Park for a final lap around the park.
Perhaps we'll see Santa Paws (or Santa Claws), Gingerpet Man, or a Reindog in our parade!
All social pets are welcome; a leash, pet carrier, or pet stroller is a must. We will parade on the village sidewalks for safety. Once again, The Altamont Enterprise will be taking family pet portraits in the gazebo. Hope you can join in, and make this WinterFest purrfect!
