LLOYD RYDER OF BERNE
ACCIDENTALLY SHOT

Lloyd Ryder, aged 22, son of Frank Ryder of Schenectady, is in a very serious condition in the Albany hospital as the result of an accident late Tuesday afternoon in which a charge of shot accidentally discharged from his gun entered his body.

Ryder was out hunting on the farm of his uncle, Harold Boomhower, between Berne and South Berne and had placed the gun against a tree while climbing the tree for walnuts.
After the accident he endeavored to reach the highway so he might attract attention and was noticed by Jack Davidson of Rensselaerville, who took him to the house of his uncle, from there he was hurried to the Albany hospital by Frank J. Shultes. He has good chances of recovery.
His cousin Frank Boughton met with a serious accident some time ago on the same farm, that caused the loss of one eye and both hands by a premature explosion of powder, when blowing up stumps.
