To the Editor:

Crossgates is a wonderful advocate for local military and veterans.

It was so nice to attend an event at Crossgates yesterday where Albany County was honoring two local veterans for their service. I have been to several military-related events in the past at Crossgates and would like to applaud them for their efforts as community-minded neighbors.

As a military veteran myself and one that married into the military life, it’s extremely important for our Guilderland businesses to show their support for veterans and active-duty military, and they do just that.

I have attended several military expos at that mall, have donated to the tables that collect items for care packages, and signed many holiday cards that are sent to troops serving overseas and will continue to do so. I have stopped and spoken to the military recruiters that have set up there over the years to thank them for their service and to share stories about my years of service. 

Thank you, Crossgates, for always being such a gracious host and supporting our military and veterans year after year. It does not go unnoticed.
