Enjoy a family day of honoring our veterans

To the Editor:
I am writing to invite the community, banner recipients, their families and friends to our fifth annual closing ceremony for Westerlo Hometown Heroes.

The event starts at 2 p.m. sharp on Saturday, Nov. 5, and will be held at the Westerlo Baptist Church.  We will be honoring this year’s banner recipients and thanking all veterans and active-duty service members from near and afar.

We have some special guests this year as it is our fifth anniversary. The Norwich Regimental Shock Platoon drill team will be performing under the direction of Sergeant Major Geraldo Mercado. We will also have a luncheon after the ceremony.
