To the Editor:

On Thursday, Nov. 17, our dental office will be participating in the national program to help veterans with immediate dental problems. Veterans Smile Day was started some time ago and has now been endorsed by the American Dental Association and the New York State Dental Association.  This is the first year for both the state and our office to attempt such an event.

If you are a veteran with an immediate dental problem, you are welcome to call our office at (518) 861-5136 and set up an appointment for that day.  We are new to this so we have a limited number of appointments available to those who call first.

Of course, we can’t solve all dental needs in one appointment, but if we can get some of our local vets out of pain and looking and eating better, that is our goal.  There will be no charge for any services provided that day.

We think this is a good first effort to honor those who have served our country.
