Vicky Plotsky is a reformer

To the Editor:

With Election Day approaching, we wanted to state our strong endorsement of Democrat Vicky Plotsky for Albany County Legislature, District 38.

Like us, she will be a strong voice for good government and policies that are both fiscally responsible and forward-looking to preserve the character and environment that help support the quality of life that citizens enjoy in both Bethlehem and New Scotland.

Vicky is a reformer who wants to see the Charter Commission recommendations for county government reform put before the voters, including both downsizing of the county legislature and non-partisan redistricting (yes, we have gerrymandering in Albany County).

While some changes have been made in the last two years to improve accountability in county government, including better transparency, more needs to be done to address the perception of nepotism in government, the lack of trust in government decision-makers, and decisions being made in the public’s interest and not for the benefit of well-funded special interests.
