Judge Napierski being viciously slandered in Democratic Club Facebook post

To the Editor:

Why don’t good people pursue elected positions in government? The simple answer is “politics.”

In April of this year, I was thrilled to learn that the Guilderland Town Board had unanimously selected my sister Christine Napierski as town justice to fill an unexpected vacancy. In unanimously choosing Christine Napierski as the newest town judge, the bipartisan town board rightfully called attention to her temperament and her 25-year career as a local attorney with extensive trial experience.

She was the ideal candidate. I was then and remain today very proud of my sister and the example she set for her son and my own daughters and son.

I knew she was excited and honored to serve as a justice for her town. However, she soon learned that her party, the Guilderland Democratic Committee in particular, would not endorse her candidacy in the upcoming election.

Instead, she was told to step aside in favor of a less-qualified, as determined by the town board, party insider. She refused and since then they have been out to destroy her.

Of course, negative ads are to be expected; however, the behavior displayed in this contest has been out of line. Most recently, the Robert F Kennedy Democratic Club posted on Facebook that Judge Napierski was running on the Conservative Party ticket and was therefore, somehow, associated with the terrible synagogue shooting.

In their nearly incomprehensible but clearly inflammatory comment regarding Justice Napierski, the group wrote:

“Today’s news. Hint. Google tree of life synagogue. Those are the conservatives of 2018. We do not condone hate groups.” https://www.facebook.com/RFKdems/posts/10156349060282839

This attack has absolutely nothing to do with Justice Napierski. It, and others like it, have only to do with the Democratic Party establishment that seeks to maintain control of a judgeship that they lost control of when the prior Democrat justice resigned in disgrace and pleaded guilty to stealing millions from his elderly clients.

The vacancy that allowed Christine Napierski to be appointed occurred only because a corrupt Democratic judge went to prison. I hope the voters of my hometown remember that when they go to the polls.

If Justice Napierski was in any way actually associated with a hate group that would be big news.

Big news.

After all, she is currently a sitting Guilderland town judge.

Of course there is no such news, or anything like it.

The only news is that she is being viscously slandered, and that’s not news; that’s politics.
