We can be the change for which we’ve been waiting
To the Editor:
Election Day is here, and we must either choose more of the same, from the same incumbent politicians, choose change from different politicians, or we will choose to let others make our elections for us.
We are represented by incumbocrats and incumblicans, often for decades, as if our state's population has no other viable choices.
For example, Altamont’s United States Representative has been such since 2009. Our United States Senators have been in office since 2009, and since 1999! Of course, we are represented by incumbocrats and incumblicans in state and local government, too.
On the continuing pain of the inflation since our last presidential election, inflation adjusted prices are up by more than 20 percent since January 2021, according to the U.S. government’s Bureau of Labor Statistics’ online inflation calculator.
Of course, this hurts poor and middle class local voters’ families more than it hurts rich local voters’ families.
We can be the change for which we’ve been waiting, as a multimillionaire politician once advised. Vote.
