Any day you can plant hope is a great day

To the Editor:

I thought I would send you a seasonal and feel-good photo. This is a picture of Stephen Trimboli (known as “The Grillmaster” from Guilderland schools and the husband of Deb Trees) and me planting a tree at his home on Monday afternoon.

The Mckownville Improvement Association has organized an effort to put as many trees as we can plant in our street lawns and other spaces this week.

Planting and purchasing is by individual homeowners with the help of a large donation from one special neighbor. She wants to help get more trees planted even if they aren’t in her yard.

More Trees from Troy delivered our 16  trees to my front yard Monday morning and all day the trees have been shuttled to their new homes. Any day you can plant hope is a great day. Steve and Deb chose a Hackberry, a bird-friendly large native tree.
