I support Dan Hanley for Knox Town Board. We should be able to disagree without being disagreeable.

To the Editor:

As a member of the Knox Town Board and a person who respects all residents, I feel a need to reach out to you.

As a lifelong resident, I have felt that our town is a great place to live and to raise your children. I hope Knox will always be a small town with wide-open spaces. I was raised to be truthful and show respect to others and always to be a good listener.

In a year where we've seen such disrespect by our current town supervisor to residents, volunteers, and town officials, our new board member needs to be someone who has the integrity to treat everyone with respect and dignity.

It is for this and many other reasons why I'm supporting Dan Hanley for the Knox Town Board.

Dan believes that volunteerism is the foundation for a strong community here in Knox. Dan and his wife, Tammy, are dedicated to helping their neighbors as well as being involved with school and town activities.

At the town board, we should be able to disagree without being disagreeable. Disrespect of any individual is disrespecting our town and everyone in it.

I would encourage the voters in Knox to cast their votes for Dan Hanley on Nov. 8.
