Vas is like family to me and mine

To the Editor:

I met Vasilios Lefkaditis and his family nine years ago. He purchased and restored a beautiful historic farmhouse on our road. Vas is an extremely intelligent man. He has a heart of gold.

He puts other’s needs before his own! He volunteers for numerous community events for children and senior citizens. Vas is a hardworking man and a fantastic father who is involved with his kids’ recreations.

Vas has accomplished more success than anyone I have ever known at his age! Vas has helped many folks in these Hilltowns over the years! He has paid for housing for families and senior citizens that fell on hard times, and needed a home! He never expected a dime for what he provided!

Vas listens to people, with an open mind, and may or may not see your view. He tells it like it is! It is not personal. Where he comes from, it is a normal style of life, plain and simple! He has a wealth of knowledge. I feel grateful for him and his family moving here, giving and doing all that they have for the community!

Vas has given so much, to so many. His strong financial background is the main quality needed for town of Knox supervisor! He is a practical thinker. He researches everything before making a decision. Vas is successful because of his many qualities. He is not a professional politician. He is a savvy, smart, and practical, and most importantly he is an honest man!

I am grateful for all of his accomplishments over the years on our school and town boards. I am proud to call Vas and his family my neighbors and friends; they are like family to me and mine!

Vas has support from the following lifelong residents of Knox who will be running for a seat on the Knox Town Board. Ken Saddlemire and Karl Pritchard for councilmen, Traci Schanz for town clerk, Tim Francis for justice, and Gary Salisbury for highway superintendent.

I have known each of them personally for many years. Each has a mind of his or her own and will use it, rather than following the herd of sheep! They are all hardworking, honest people who want to listen and work with the residents of Knox!

They care about tax increases, our children, and senior citizens. I wish each of you the best of luck on Nov. 7! Thank you for running in this election and wanting to work for the taxpayers. Either way, this election goes, at the end, you will all still be friendly, decent, and kind human beings.

I encourage every registered voter to get out on Nov. 7 and vote! Vote the entire party line, and see the success of people working together who truly care!
