As past supervisors, we know Greenberg is a talented and dedicated board member

To the Editor:

As past town of New Scotland supervisors, both Republican and Democrat, we have all experienced the great honor and great responsibility of serving New Scotland. We each have worked with some talented and dedicated board members, so we know one when we see one. Adam Greenberg qualifies.

In his two years on the board, he has already proven his mettle. He’s worked hard to keep taxes well below the 2-percent cap. He was instrumental in saving the Hilton barn and creating a 14-acre park at its side (all at no expense of New Scotland taxpayer money), updating our long overdue comprehensive plan, and developing zoning to attract the kind of mixed-use development residents have pleaded for in the New Scotland hamlet.

He has championed laws to require Town Hall to better inform residents of pending public hearings and to streamline applications for solar installations. He has led the town’s push to expand high-speed internet access to underserved areas and spearheaded efforts to acquire needed grants. We could go on, but you get the point.

As former town leaders, we’d like to formally endorse Adam Greenberg in the race for town board. And as present New Scotland residents who want the best for the town we love, we ask you to vote for him on Nov. 7.
