No one has done more for the community than Amy Pokorny

To the Editor:

My family and I have had the good fortune to know Amy Lauterbach Pokorny for well over 20 years.  We’ve been able to enjoy and participate in so many community events because of Amy: from meeting Santa and jam sessions at the former Knox Country store to barn dances, birthday parties (including my wife’s 50th, which meant so much!) and star-gazing at the Octagon Barn.

Amy and Russ have touched my family’s lives in so many wonderful ways!

It has also been a pleasure to support Amy’s initiatives: smart business development, preserving our rural character, renewable energy, and recycling.

Amy has always been an active participant and supporter in Knox community function, playing in the Knox Town Band in Memorial Day parades and services, as an officer in the local Kiwanis Club, and as a charter member of the Helderberg Hilltowns Association (which promotes local farms and business interests).

The grant money that Amy has secured for our town alone would secure my vote!

What Amy has done, and continues to do, for the town of Knox, without recognition and reward, would exhaust most people. Do you really know anyone else who has continuously and consistently done more for our community?

The very thought that she would be willing to invest more time and energy to lead Knox into the future is commendable. You will not meet a more thoughtful, considerate, intelligent, and hardworking individual willing to devote herself for our mutual benefit.

A vote for Amy Pokorny is a vote for all of us in  Knox!
