A salute to the village of Altamont

To the Editor:

Here in western Albany County, we are fortunate to be home to many of the county’s historical hamlets, villages, and towns.  So it was with great pride that I presented a proclamation from the Albany County Legislature honoring the village of Altamont on its 125th anniversary.

The village of Altamont remains a close-knit community. Several historical sites and homes serve as a reminder to visitors and ourselves of the village’s past, and also remind us what hard work and dedication can produce when we all work together to preserve the history and values this wonderful village.

It is my honor to represent the 31st District, including Altamont, East Berne, Guilderland Center, and Knox, in the Albany County Legislature.
