KNOX — Gregory B. Kirchner of Knox, a family man who was easy to like, died peacefully in his sleep in Bainbridge, New York on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024. He was 76.

Born in 1948 in Liberty, New York, he was the son of the late Fred and Helen Kochan Kirchner and the beloved husband of Charlene Meeson Kirchner.

“Greg attended college in Texas followed by a long career as a job estimator for BBL construction in Albany,” his family wrote in a tribute. “Prior to his educational endeavors Greg worked in his father’s garage in Roscoe, New York, where he shared in the family business at Kirchner Chevrolet.

“Greg had a love for taking long rides on his motorcycle and was an avid golfer. Greg enjoyed his free time playing Orchard Creek Golf Course in Altamont, taking great pride in his time spent with his son, Charlie, playing 18 holes.

“Additionally, Greg could be found at various car shows, motorcycle swap meets, and cherished the time watching his son, Charlie, and daughter, Megan, bowling in their bowling league. Finally, Greg will be remembered as ‘easy to like,’ making new friends wherever he would go.”
