Genevieve Riley

Genevieve Riley, daughter of the late Clara Mann, and beloved wife of the late John J. Riley, to whom she was married for 71 years, died on Monday, Oct. 14, 2024.

Born in 1926, she grew up in Berne, where she lived with her Aunt Lena and Uncle Jesse Sholtes. She graduated from Berne-Knox Central High School in 1946.

After marrying John J. Riley, she resided with her family in Clarksville, for several years where she operated a beauty shop. They later moved to Westmere, Poughkeepsie, and Colonie. Afterher husband died, she lived at Loudonville Assisted Living Residence.

Genevieve Riley is survived by her two sons, John Jesse Riley and wife, Susan, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and Joseph Dennison Riley and wife, Corinne, of Bridgeville, Delaware. 

In addition, Genevieve is survived by four grandchildren, Shauna Moulton (Matt), Jackelyn Perkins (Austin), Jeremy Riley (Tessa), and Jenna Marrone (Nick); seven great-grandchildren, Cash and Cali Perkins, Ayden, Gavin, Madison and Quinn Riley, and Riley Marrone. 

Genevieve (Aunt Gen) also leaves behind her cherished sister Linda Ingraham (David) and nieces: Laurel Skultety (Steve), Shalyn Docous (Greg), Audra Smith (Bob), and nephew David Ingraham (Denise) and their children and grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 10 to 11 a.m. with a funeral service to begin at 11 a.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205.

Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, 2150 Central Ave., Schenectady, NY 12304.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Clarksville Community Reformed Church, 1997 Delaware Tpke., Clarksville, NY 12041.
