NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION SUBJECT

TO PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a regular meeting held on the 11th day of October, 2017, the Town Board of the Town of New Scotland, Albany County, New York (the “Town”) duly adopted a resolution, an abstract of which follows, which resolution is subject to a permissive referendum pursuant to Section 35.00 of the Local Finance Law of the State of New York.

The following is a summary of a resolution adopted by the Town Board on October 11, 2017. Said resolution authorizes the issuance and sale of a serial bond or bonds and a bond anticipation note or notes in anticipation of the issuance and sale of said serial bonds, in an amount not to exceed $100,000. The proceeds from the sale of the obligations authorized in said resolution shall be used for the specific purpose of financing the construction, reconstruction, renovation, and installation of various improvements to the Town Highway Garage consisting of the roof replacement, including any necessary site work and the acquisition and installation of equipment, machinery, and apparatus related thereto at an estimated maximum cost not to exceed $100,000 and having a period of probable usefulness of twenty-five (25) years.

A copy of the resolution summarized herein is available for public inspection during normal business hours at the Office of the Town Clerk, in the Town Hall, located in the Town of Slingerlands, New York.

Public Notice

Please take notice that the town of Westerlo will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, November 8th, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. at Town Hall located at 933 County Route 401 Westerlo, N.Y. 12193 regarding granting a cable television Franchise Agreement by and between Mid-Hudson Cablevision, Inc. and the Town of Westerlo.

A copy of the Franchise Agreement is available for public inspection during normal business hours at the Clerk’s office at Town of Westerlo, located at 933 County Route 401 Westerlo, N.Y. 12193.

At such public hearing all persons will be given an opportunity to be heard, written or oral statements will be taken at that time. Time limitations may be imposed for each oral statement if necessary. Individuals wishing to file comments regarding the aplication may do so with the New York State Public Service Commission within 10 days of publication, at Three Empire State Plaza, Albany, New York 12223. Notice is hereby given that the Zoning Board of Town of New Scotland, New York will hold a public hearing pursuant to Chapter 190, Article IX, Section 190-73 of the Zoning Law on the following proposition:

A Public Hearing for Variance Application # 518

Variance Application # 518: Application Submitted by Stephan & Karen Lee DiBella requesting relief from Article II, Section 190-12 (B) of the Town of New Scotland’s Zoning Law to allow for an attached garage to be constructed within the side set back on a parcel. The parcel is located within the “RA” district at 147 Swift Road. The parcel is owned by the applicant, is identified as New Scotland Tax parcel id # 72.-3-22.20. The “RA” district has a side setback of 25 feet. This request is for 12 feet of relief to allow for structure to be located 13 feet from the property line. 

Said hearing will take place on October 24, 2017 at the New Scotland Town Hall 7:00 P.M.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of Rensselaerville has introduced proposed Local Law No. 1 of 2017 entitled, “A Local Law Overriding the Real Property Tax Levy Limit for Fiscal Year 2018”.  

The Town Board will hold a Public Hearing on the proposed law on October 25, 2017 at 7:00 pm at the Town of Rensselaerville Town Hall, 87 Barger Road, Medusa, NY, at which time and place all those wishing to comment will be provided with the full opportunity to be heard.  Communications in writing in relation thereto may be filed with the Town Clerk’s Office or at such hearing.  A copy of the proposed local law is available for inspection in the Town Clerk’s Office or may be viewed online at  HYPERLINK “http://www.rensselaerville.comwww.rensselaerville.com.

The text of the proposed local law is as follows: 

BE IT ENACTED by the Town Board of the Town of Rensselaerville as follows:

Section 1. Legislative Authority: Chapter 97 of the Laws of 2011 of New York State, incorporated in §3-c of the General Municipal Law, established a ‘tax cap’ that generally limits the amount of a municipality’s real property tax levy for the upcoming fiscal year according to a formula set out in the statute, but the statute also authorizes local governments, pursuant to General Municipal Law §3-c(5), to override the tax levy limit for the upcoming fiscal year.

Section 2. Override of Tax Levy Limit for Fiscal Year 2018:  The real property tax levy limit set out in §3-c of the General Municipal Law is overridden, pursuant to New York General Municipal Law §3-c(5), for Fiscal Year 2018, and the Town may adopt a budget for Fiscal Year 2018 that incorporates a real property tax increase in excess of the otherwise applicable tax levy limit. 

Any other matters that come before the Board will also be addressed at this time.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Altamont, County of Albany, State of New York, invites and will receive sealed bids at the Village Office located at 115 Main Street, PO Box 643, Altamont, NY, at or before the hour of 3:30 PM on October 27, 2017, for the village’s surplus equipment of 1996 Pierce Saber Heavy Rescue Unit. Equipment is to be sold in “as is” condition with no warranties expressed written or otherwise implied. Minimum bid amount of $70,000 is required.

Sealed bids will be received and recorded by the Village Clerk. Any bid received after 3:30 PM on October 27, 2017 will be returned to the point of origin unopened. Bidders assume all risks for timely, properly submitted deliveries. E-mail bid submissions are not acceptable and will not be considered.

 In-person from the Village Clerk’s Office during the hours of 9:00AM to 12:00PM and 1:00PM to 4:00PM, Monday through Friday, except holidays and office closure

The Village of Altamont reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Failure to denote “Sealed bid of Surplus Equipment” on the bid envelope and/or package will result in the opening of said material and will result in the disqualification of said bid.

All bids will be opened at 3:30 PM on October 27, 2017 in the Village Office located at 115 Main Street, Altamont, NY 12009. All bidders or their authorized agents are invited to be present when the bids are opened and read publicly. All bids may be inspected at this time and thereafter presented to the Village Board of Trustees for their consideration. No bid may be withdrawn after the specified opening time and date. Once opened, all bids become the property of the Village of Altamont, and will not be returned to the bidders.
