Ann Christine Gepfert

Ann Christine (née Woodward) Gepfert, proud of her career with Niagara Mohawk, gathered friends wherever she went.

She died in Port St. Lucie, Florida on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023, after an extended illness. She was 85.

She was born on March 12, 1938 to Kenneth and Dorothy (née Shultz) Woodward of Clarksville. She married Lawrence Gepfert Sr. and, following a brief stint in San Diego, she spent most of her life in Clarksville.

After retirement, she resided in Hadley, New York and Port St. Lucie, Florida.

“She was very proud of her extended career with Niagara Mohawk, advancing into computer programming and commercial billing at the Power Pool,” her family wrote in a tribute. “She was a member of the Onesquethaw Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary.

“Ann loved to bake and none of her friends or relatives had a sweet tooth untouched. She selflessly gave to her family and friends, providing rides, shopping, visits, and meals.

“Ann was not afraid to go out of her element and snowmobile, butcher an elk, or help build a cabin in the Adirondacks or the mountains of Colorado. A gatherer of many friends wherever she went, witty and boundless in energy, she touched everyone.”
