Dan Hanley is a good friend and neighbor

To the Editor:

I am pleased to be able to write a letter of support for Dan Hanley. Dan is a friend and a neighbor.

As a friend, Dan has helped my family in every way possible. He was there for us when my wife was in her battles with cancer. As a neighbor, he has been there for the residents of Beebe Road every time we have had substantial snowfalls, plowing driveways for anyone needing help.

Dan shows up when local farmers need help loading or unloading hay and that has been very appreciated on many occasions. Dan has been there for many youth here in the Hilltowns by organizing and coaching multiple soccer teams and being active with Cub and Boy Scouts. Many know Dan and his family from church, PTA, and other school and community functions.

These points all speak to the important values we need: family, community, team-building, patience, voluntarism, and inclusion. These are the reasons I am supporting Daniel A. Hanley for Knox Town Council this November.

Editor’s note: Sandy Gordon is a former member of the Knox Town Board and a former Albany County legislator. Like Dan Hanley, he is a Democrat, and he nominated Hanley at the Knox Democratic caucus to run for the town board post.
