Bake sale raised $400 for food pantry. We are fortunate to live in a caring community

To the Editor:

Thank you to everyone who supported the bake sale at the Altamont Fall Festival, including all of the talented bakers. Not only did people get to enjoy the delicious desserts, nearly $400 was raised for the Altamont Community Food Pantry!

What a great help for those in our community, especially as we approach Thanksgiving.

At the Altamont Community Food Pantry, we provide extra food baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas, with all of the fixings necessary to help our recipients enjoy a special holiday meal.

If anyone wishes to make a food or monetary donation to the food pantry, you may drop them off at any of the three Altamont churches or call (518) 861-8770 to schedule a pick-up or drop-off. Turkeys and grocery-store gift cards are especially useful at this time.

We are so fortunate to live in this caring community. Thank you for all of your past and continued support.
