Eat chicken, see friends, support Gold Star Families

To the Editor:

On Oct. 8, the auxiliary of the Boyd Hilton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7062, located on 11 Mill St. in Altamont, will be hosting a chicken-and-biscuit dinner fundraiser to benefit the Gold Star Families Memorial Fund.

The dinner will consist of chicken and biscuits, mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies, cranberry sauce, a variety of pies for dessert, along with coffee and tea.

The donation for the dinner is $11 per person and will be served from 4 till 7 p.m.

You can eat at the post or buy a meal to take home.

Work outside all day, getting ready for winter, then, when you’re done, come on down to the post for dinner. Bring mom and the kids and all your helpers to the VFW for a great dinner.

Have some laughs, meet new friends, and say hi to some old ones.

You’ll be helping the Gold Star Families get a little closer to attaining their goal of purchasing a Gold Star Families Memorial that will be placed adjacent to the Vietnam Memorial located in Lafayette Park across from the Capitol in Albany

Tickets are available at the VFW any day from 2 p.m. till at least 7 p.m. or call me, Darlene Stanton, at (518) 470-7310 for tickets or if you have any questions
