It is time vocal, angry residents were told to sit down

To the Editor:

Once I believed what I read in this paper was straight up. Now it seems there has been added a creative spin with opinion and summary of events thrown in.

Creative is to be written as an editorial and this paper has written many award-winning ones. Editorials, though, are not the same as reporting on our local town board meetings. These write-ups should be based on nonpartisan reporting, period.

These mistruths and false allegations can sway an uninformed resident in the voting booth, especially when the only local paper enforces this with its slant.

The current supervisor in Knox won by a majority vote of all residents, twice. There has been such a disrespect for the majority vote in this town it is shameful. If you have attended recent board meetings, I am writing the obvious to you.

The reason I am running for town council in the town of Knox is for this very reason. It is my belief that a small group of very vocal, very angry residents, who have lost, do not represent the majority and it is time they were told to sit down.

I believe in Knox first.

Let us bring it together and continue with the positive changes happening in our fine town, despite the negative press. Let us stop the hate.

Vote the Republican or Conservative or Independent lines:

— Vasilios Lefkaditis (D) for town supervisor;

— June Springer (D) for town council;

— Dennis Cyr (R) for town council;

— Traci Schanz (I) for town clerk;

— Elizabeth Walk (D) for town tax collector;

— Bonnie Donati (R) for town justice.

June M. Springer

Candidate

Knox
