Enjoy lasagna, bid on cakes, and support the Berne Library

To the Editor:

You are invited to attend the Lasagna Dinner and Cakewalk at the Hilltown Senior Center at 1360 Helderberg Trail on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 5:30 p.m.

This dinner, featuring a variety of homemade lasagna (meat, vegetarian, gluten-free), salad, bread, and make-your-own sundaes, is sponsored by the Friends of the Berne Library and all proceeds will benefit the Berne Public Library.

Tickets for this relaxing, delicious meal are on sale at the Berne Public Library: adults pay $10, children 12 and under pay $8; there is a $50 maximum for a family of two adults and children under 18.  Tickets will be sold at the door for $12 per adult.

A special feature of this dinner is the cakewalk.  Tickets for drawings to win made-from-scratch cakes will be available for sale; 10 tickets cost $10. Call the library at (518) 872-1246 for more information.

Proceeds from the dinner and cakewalk will be used to purchase bookshelves and comfortable reading chairs for the library.

Hope to see you Oct. 1. Bon appétit!

Donna Gwin, president

Friends of the Berne Public Library
