Allow the magazine rack to be a public forum of ideas

To the Editor:

I am writing regarding the Guilderland Public Library’s magazine exchange rack.

As a 30-year patron of the library. I have seen fewer magazines in the past two years possibly due to Internet readers.

I have brought and taken many general, political, and faith-based periodicals. By allowing many magazines to be exchanged (except pornography), this helps to broaden a person’s consciousness.

It is always exciting to read a periodical/magazine on any subject that is new to my reading experience.

I implore director Timothy Wiles to continue to allow the magazine rack to be a public forum of ideas about all subjects. He is an excellent director and Margaret Garnett is a superb assistant director.
