To the Editor:

Thank you for the picture and mention of the Thompsons Lake Campground Halloween in August event.  The participation by the campers really makes this event special and it was, in fact, started by several long-term and regular campers many years ago.

I would also like to commend the workers at the campground who spent countless hours planning activities and games and decorating for the event. As it turns out, the long-term workers at the campground see how much the campers enjoy this event and they themselves look forward to it.

Almost everyone dresses up and joins in. When one of the campers who started the tradition graciously asked for help planning the day a couple of years ago, a few of the workers and camp management took up the cause.

This year, there were pre-printed T-shirts for tie-dying and several games to play during the day.   Everyone had a great time.  It is events like this that keep campers coming back.  Thank you to the park employees for making it happen.
