NORTH GREENBUSH — Alice A. Fisher — a brilliant teacher and a devout woman of faith — died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018. She was 61.

Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late John and Jane Doughney. Her beloved husband of 32 years, Robert (Bob) Fisher, died before her.

“She was a brilliant teacher at the Carol A. Dunigan Day Care Center,” her family wrote in a tribute.

“Alice enjoyed all genres of music and had an extensive collection of vinyl throughout the years. She was a self-proclaimed beach babe and Cape Cod was her escape.

“A devout woman of faith, Alice worshipped with her family at the New Birth Christian Fellowship Center. She was ‘mother’ to many young people in her community and always ready to lend advice and guidance.”

She is survived by her cherished children Katie, Holly, Natalie, Carly, Robert, and Sonia. The pride of her life were her grandchildren, Cheyenne, Savannah, Morgan, Izabella, Myah, Jaxon, Autumn, and Kayden.

She is also survived by her brother, Edward Doughney and his wife, Michelle.

Her beloved granddaughter Brook died before her.

“She will be dearly missed by her three grand kitties,” her family wrote.

Funeral services were Saturday morning at Cannon Funeral Home in Colonie with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Berne. Mourners may leave condolences at www.CannonFuneral.com.
