Mendelssohn Club opens auditions for 2023-24 season

A Capital Region tradition since 1909, the 60-voice Mendelssohn Club of Albany chorus is the area’s longest continually performing arts group.

The Mendelssohn Club of Albany is holding auditions beginning in September for male singers who want to join the club for the 2023-24 season.
Interested tenors and basses may rehearse with the club on Wednesday evenings beginning on Sept. 6 at 7:15 p.m. at the New Covenant Presbyterian Church at 916 Western Ave. in Albany.

The club invites prospective members to sing with the group during subsequent rehearsals in September to become acquainted with the music, conductor, and members of the club. Rehearsals take place every Wednesday, and the club will hold auditions near the end of September or in early October. The club is composed of men from the Capital District, Hudson Valley, and Berkshire regions, and performs a full range of male choral selections from around the world. From Lincoln Center to the Mormon Tabernacle, the Mendelssohn Club of Albany has performed in over 85 distinct locations.
