The Great War: New York Answers the Call

To the Editor:

On Wednesday, Sept. 4, we will be honored to have Stuart W. Lehman talk about New York State’s participation in World War I, the “Great War,” with special emphasis on upstate New York. Several military units from New York State will be covered, including the 27th and 77th  divisions, as well as the 165th and the 369th regiments.

The life of one soldier, from Nassau, New York, who lost his life in France will be highlighted.

Stuart works as assistant curator in the New York State Office of General Services. He develops tours and programs related to the New York State Capitol, and researches the history of capital buildings.

He is well known for his insight into and knowledge of local history.

Starting time is 7 p.m. in the Clarksville Community Church and the lecture is open to the public. Refreshments will be served. For further information, please call 518-768-2870.
