Cyber tip leads to felony arrest for child porn

GUILDERLAND — A 24-year-old Guilderland man was charged on July 23 with possessing a sexual performance by a child, a felony.

Tufan Oner is accused of possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation, according to a release from the New York State Police.

A cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led to a warrant to search his Guilderland home.

Oner was arrested at his home and transported to the state police office in Latham, where he was processed. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Guilderland Town Court on Aug. 1 and released.

The Troop G Computer Crimes Unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce helped with the investigation.
