Altamont Protestants to hold service in park

ALTAMONT — Altamont Reformed and St. John's Lutheran churches are planning a joint service of Holy Communion at Orisini Park on Sunday, Aug. 16, at 10 a.m.  Pastors Robert Luidens and Gregory Zajac will lead the service.

Their scripture text will be Psalm 34.

Singing, "Swing Low Sweet Chariot," will be Sarah Popovics, Karen Hulihan, and her sons, Kyle Williams and Evan Williams. Sarah Popovics will also provide guitar accompaniment.

The service will also include the commissioning of Vacation Bible School staff.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.  In the event of rain, the service will be held at St. John's on Maple Avenue.
