Calling kids who love dogs to form new 4-H club

To the Editor:
Albany Obedience Club is once again partnering with the Albany County 4-H program to sponsor a new 4-H club, based at the AOC training facility at 535 Wemple Road in Glenmont focusing on — you guessed it — dogs!

An organizational meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the training facility in Glenmont, where area youth can learn about the new 4-H club, sign up for membership, and brainstorm ideas for club activities.

Because of the membership served by AOC and its proximity to neighboring counties, the AOC-based 4-H dog club will be a multi-county club, also welcoming youth from counties other than Albany County.

Area youth interested in learning more about the new 4-H club, or becoming a member may register for the program by contacting me, Sharon Breisch, at or by text at 518-603-2356 by Monday, Aug. 7. Documentation for current vaccine or titers for all dogs is required.

Interested youth handlers and their canine partners will also have an opportunity at the meeting to try their hand at CPE Speedway, a new, fast, canine game using hoops, tunnels and barrels.

Join us for a fun-filled evening.
