VOORHEESVILLE.

A complete record or service roll of honor now has to be kept on file in the town clerk’s office, of the men of the town who have been inducted into service for the government, either in army or navy, for the purpose of enrollment. R. T. Coughtry, town clerk of the town of New Scotland, is desirous of getting the names of all the men who left this town, and the name or number of the regiment, and also to what camp they were sent when they left. A complete address is desired to be kept on file, and Mr. Coughtry would be aided in this work if all parents of boys who are in the service of the country would send this information direct to him as soon as possible.

CLARKSVILLE.

Word has been received of the safe arrival in France of Private J. G. Ives.

BARN STRUCK BY LIGHTNING.

During the severe electrical storm Sunday, lightning struck the barn on the Geo. Spawn farm, a mile northeast of Fullers, on the old state road. The building was completely destroyed. A cow fastened in its stable broke loose and was saved. An automobile was also taken from the burning building. The farm is being worked by John C. Spawn. The buildings were insured in the town company.

WARNER’S LAKE.

The masquerade and dance held by the guests of Mattice’s Lake View cottage, Warner’s Lake, on Thursday evening, July 25, was a big success. Many novel costumes were worn. The guests were fortunate in having with them many prominent artists who entertained during the evening with piano, violin, banjo, and vocal solos. “Sunbonnet Sue” and the dance of the “Buffalo Man” were features.
