Let’s be proud and display the American flag
To the Editor:
I am concerned about the lack of American flags that are flown. This is at any time of the year, not just the summer holidays.
I have been living in the Capital District area for a number of years. When I was growing up, most all families and businesses had a flag flying. This was is in the era of the World War II soldier.
In my local travels in the Capital District, I rarely see a flag anymore. Particularly disturbing are all the businesses that line the major highways that do not fly the American flag.
At this point, I find it disappointing and embarrassing. Outside the businesses, I see many red, white, and blue signs that say “open,” but no American flag.
There are prices and sizes to fit all budgets for businesses and residential homes.
In this difficult era that we live in, let’s be proud and display the American flag as it should be.
What is the nicest American flag that I have seen? It stands at the MacDonald’s. Just saying.
