Preserving fair history: Willard Schultz, left, president of the Altamont Fair, and Amy Anderson, the fair’s manager, stand with Chris Smith, Albany County legislator for District 39. Smith and Travis Stevens, Albany County legislator for District 31, secured a $3,500 grant for the fair to use to preserve its history as it celebrates its 125th year.

To the Editor:

The 125th Anniversary Committee of the Altamont Fair would like to thank the Albany County Legislature for awarding the fair a grant for supplies for the preservation of fair history.

We would like to thank legislators Travis Stevens and Chris Smith for cosponsoring the request and Linda Cure for all her help applying for these funds. This grant is part of an ongoing effort to preserve our Altamont Fair history and draw attention to the fair’s seven museums. Thank you for your support!
