We are optimistic regarding the one-year solar moratorium

To the Editor:
We are writing to the Knox town residents:

Our family would like to express our deep appreciation to the Knox Town Planning Board for unanimously voting down the RIC Knox solar project at 1688 Thompson Lake Road [“Knox Planning Board firmly rejects RIC solar proposal,” The Altamont Enterprise, July 14, 2023].

It was encouraging that you all recognized the parcel of land bordering the back of our property was just not a suitable location for this solar project.

We are optimistic regarding the one-year moratorium. This will give the planning board time to set parameters in the local solar law to protect similar residential areas in the town.
