In order to abate this nuisance complained of by the Commissioner of Health it will be necessary for the construction of a sewer system in Altamont and for the purpose of discussing the establishment of same, president Dayton H. Whipple calls for a special meeting of the tax payers of the village of Altamont to be held at Sturges hall in the village of Altamont on Friday evening, July 13th, at 7:30 o’clock. All persons having cesspools are particularly requested to be in attendance. VILLAGE NOTES.
— Charles Wood, of the Altamont bakery, has recently purchased a “Vim” auto delivery truck, which takes the place of the old machine which has been doing service for the past few years. The new truck has all the latest improvements and is capable of doing heavy work and lots of it.
— Several of our village boys went bathing at the Bozenkill a few days ago and while there were also treated to a sprinkling of tar. It seems that about the time the boys were leaving the water, the tank sprinkler was being driven over the bridge, and the planking allowed the tar to leak through, giving the boys a liberal dose of the fluid.
