Meet friends in fresh air filled with music

To the Editor:

Enjoy free music provided by local bands at Music in the Park 2024. On Wednesdays July 17 through Aug. 14 local musicians will be playing rock and bluegrass music at the Berne Town Park pavilion.

On Aug. 21 a special Open Mic Music in the Park will take place at the Knox Town Park.  All programs begin at 6:30 p.m.

The Friends of the Berne Library provide refreshments. Meet up with old friends, make new acquaintances, and enjoy a relaxing evening out in the fresh air filled with music.

The schedule is as follows:

— July 17: Just a Bunch of Guys and Gals;

— July 24: East Berne Band;

— July 31: Hilltown Ramblers;

— Aug. 7: A Special Tribute to Denny White;

— Aug. 14: Bluestones; and

— Aug. 21: Open Mic.

On Sunday, Aug. 11, we hope you can join us for our Ice Cream Social at the Berne Town Park from 2 to 4 p.m.

With the help of Berne-Knox-Westerlo art teacher, Hannah Teeter, community members have made unique ceramic bowls. Fill your bowl with ice cream, donated by Stewart’s Shops, and top it off with sprinkles.

The cost is $10. A family price of $20 buys you a ceramic bowl and paper bowls for kids, all filled with ice cream. Proceeds benefit children’s programming at the Berne Library.

Hope to see you at Music in the Park and our Ice Cream Social!
