Berne board has become a laughing stock

To the Editor:

The poor government practices of the Berne Town Board continue.

The machinations of the board majority are like those of petty tyrants everywhere and are an embarrassment to the town and the principle of democracy.

When I am talking with people elsewhere in Albany County, I find that the Berne town government has become a laughing stock.

Certain members of the board are perpetuating a circus-like atmosphere with their baseless “investigations” that waste taxpayer dollars, and waste time. These false accusations have the very obvious sole aim of harassing one individual on the board.

This is not “politics”; it is a series of childish pranks that are wasting town resources, and that do not in any way serve the public interest.

Indeed, it appears that the very concept of public service is being undermined by the present board majority. The hardworking people of Berne deserve better.
