We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to our families, friends, and neighbors for their kind generosity and love shown to us after the sudden loss of our beloved sister and aunt, Arlene Nykorchuck.

Special thanks to Daniel Collett of the Fredendall Funeral Home, and to Pastor Nick Becker for his beautiful prayer service.

Also, special thanks to Chris Gaige and Mr. and Mrs. Ruggiero for setting up and handling the bereavement luncheon.

    Jo Ann Scoons

    OGDENSBURG, N.Y. — Jo Ann Scoons, who was smart and motivated, died peacefully on Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Home in Ogdensburg, New York. She was 86.

    Born Oct. 2, 1939, in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Scoons and Dorothy (née Hotaling) Scoons.

    RENSSELAERVILLE — John Mormile, a teacher and school administrator, was active in community affairs. He died Sunday, March 1, 2026, at his home in Potter Hollow. He was 81.

    He was born on Nov. 24, 1944, in Troy, to parents Antionette (née Martino) and Frank Mormile.
