Dennis brought to life before our eyes vibrant Voorheesville of long ago

To the Editor:
Yesterday, June 18, I spent two hours on the Historic Voorheesville Walking Tour with Village Historian Dennis Sullivan, a program sponsored by the Voorheesville Public Library.

It was a fascinating two hours loaded with information about our town’s colorful past. Dennis brought to life before our eyes the vibrant, bustling Voorheesville of long ago.

We learned about grist mills, rail cars bringing coal, the Grove Hotel, the Mott apple juice factory, and the many small businesses that populated Main Street. Dennis is a great presenter with a very natural (and comedic) style.

Thank you, Voorheesville Library and Dennis, for this magical glimpse into the history of our town. If the library offers this tour again, don’t miss it!
