Integrity is on the ballot

To the Editor:
There is a lot on the ballot for many folks in Guilderland during this primary, and integrity is one of them. A lot has been said about the race for Albany County District Attorney, but for me it boils down to trust and integrity of the office.

I firmly believe that we should be holding our elected officials to the highest standards, especially for an office that we have trusted to uphold the law.

While Mr. [David] Soares has sought to rectify the situation regarding the bonus pay, he has not taken accountability for his actions in any meaningful way and the legality of the situation is questionable at best.

We shouldn’t have to question if our elected officials have broken the law or not, and we are fortunate to have another well qualified choice on the ballot this June.

One thing is clear, the trust has been broken with the public and we need someone new who can restore that trust and put the DA’s office back on the right course.

I hope you will join me in voting for Lee Kindlon for DA on Primary Day, June 25.
