Marion Robertson

Marion Robertson

ALTAMONT — Marion Roberts, whom her family described as “a good ol’ gal,” died on Saturday, June 12, 2021. She was 93.

“Marion enjoyed family and friends, travel and crosswords, good books, and an extra dry martini,” her family wrote in a tribute.

Born in South Ryegate, Vermont on Feb. 19, 1928, she attended rural schools and later the University of New Hampshire at Durham, where she earned a degree in English.

The day following graduation, she married Bruce Robertson. They moved to Pennsylvania and Indiana where they co-managed food-service venues.

Returning to the Northeast, they settled in Altamont. They treasured the friendships and camaraderie of the Altamont “gang” all of their lives.

Left to treasure her memory are children Brian, Susan, and Leslie, 11 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Per her request, no services will be held, but contributions to the American Cancer Society in her honor would be appreciated.

Memorial messages may be left at www.altamontenterprise.com/milestones.

Condolences

My condolences to Marion’s family. There was a shared friendship for many years with my parents and times with Marion and Bruce were occasions for jokes, good food and drinks, and .... just plain silliness! Every Christmas Marion made her shortbread to be oh so carefully wrapped and delivered in a Scottish themed tin. Marion was a woman of grace and generosity and fondly remembered.

Thinking of you,
Jeanne (B. Plauth)
