Remembering Neil Taber

To the Editor:

Watching TV remembrances of the D-Day invasion at Normandy 75 years ago inspired me to remember at that time, recruiters were at high schools to recruit students to join the service.

My late husband, Neil Taber, and his brother, Lyle, joined up in high school at age 17, then at 18 were called to serve in the Army Air Forces.

Thank you, Knox Volunteer Fire Company, for the stand that holds the American flag at Neil Taber’s grave.

And thank you to the other groups that participated in Neil’s funeral.
