Clyde T. Hallock Jr.

KNOX — Mr. Clyde T. “The Hurricane” Hallock Jr. of Knox, a hard-working and generous man, died on Friday, May 27, 2022, in Lecanto, Florida. He was 86.

He was born June 4, 1935 in Albany, the son of Clyde and Frances (née Acker) Hallock.

“Clyde was a true ‘Renaissance man,’ a boy from the city who moved from Albany to the Helderberg Hilltowns and lived there for over 40 years,” his family wrote in a tribute. “In his retirement years, he moved to Crystal River, Florida and enjoyed flipping houses and gardening.

“He was a member of the Plank Roaders Association, and was a longstanding dog warden for the town of Knox. He was a hard-working man, owning and operating his own hydraulic repair business for over 40 years.

“He was a tall, quiet man with bright blue eyes and a deep alto voice. He was generous and kind to all who had the honor of knowing him.

“He was a master repairman and, if he couldn’t fix it, it simply couldn’t be fixed.”
