BKW to host STEAM camp this summer

BERNE — Berne-Knox-Westerlo will be hosting a two-week program for students to learn about science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math. The STEAM camp will be held from July 10 to July 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., for students in grades 2 through 7.

District Superintendent Timothy Mundell said the school will host up to 120 students, divided into two groups of 60, with three teachers and three aides leading programs in math and science.

Registration is due on June 16 to the elementary school main office and will cost $50. Families can apply to have their children be sponsored by a donor; the family can get in contact with the district to learn more. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

The school sent a flyer home with students recently with information about the camp, Mundell said.
